A City On A Hill

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14, ESV

There is an historic gathering taking place this weekend. On Saturday, March 4th at 12pm, churches across Hernando County and the Nature Coast will gather in a field to lift the name of Jesus and be a light shining forth in our community.

Strategically, no one could have known over a year ago when March 4th was picked that our nation would be experiencing a special outpouring of the Spirit. By now I am sure you’ve seen videos, pictures and news reports of students gathering on campuses, in open fields, or chapels for extended times of prayer and worship. These spontaneous gatherings have been marked by an extraordinary peace and presence of the Lord that has brought healing to a generation. Who could have known that this moment in history would set up so well for the church to come together in a show of unity and solidarity for one purpose.

One of our common prayers has been, “In Hernando as it is in Heaven.” I am certain that this event is a key to opening the heavens above our community and seeing a last day outpouring of HIs saving grace in our land.

The Lord said, “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” March 4th is such a moment.

I am asking you to make this a priority on Saturday. It truly is of the utmost importance.
