A Place Before A People

When God created the heavens and the earth to bring forth a man and woman in His own image, He first prepared a place before He created a people.

Think about that for a moment. God in His perfect wisdom showed that the environment had to be right first.

Follow the order of creation with me for a moment. The first day He separated light from darkness and created order. The second day He separated the waters above from the waters below and created atmosphere. The third day He separated the water from the land and created foundations. The fourth day God began to fill what what He created. He filled the sky with the stars and planets and created seasons to order the days. On the fifth day He filled the seas and skies with fish and birds. On the sixth day He filled the land with animals and humankind.

Order

Atmosphere

Foundations

Seasons

Life

People

As I write these down I think about how the enemy has worked so hard in our day to redefine and destroy each of these. He sows the seeds of disorder by causing a generation to make right wrong and wrong right. He is poising the atmosphere in culture to create a toxic environment so that it destroys life rather than promotes it. He fractures deep held foundations in identity, family, and society causing things to become fruitless.

If God created a place to produce a people that looked like Him, then it is no surprise that the enemy is looking to destroy a place to make people look more like him.

What does this mean for us? For our moms and dads, it means making sure that your home is a place of divine order, with an atmosphere of heaven, founded on biblical truth that matures through the seasons of life. This is key to bringing up your children. For spouses it means honoring the order of marriage, fostering an atmosphere of Godly love, founded upon biblical values that strengthen through every season in life. This is key to going the distance and revealing Christ through your lives. In your business, it means having a Kingdom-minded order, cultivating an atmosphere of Kingdom values, building upon Kingdom principles that produce in every season and becomes a blessing to your employees and community.

God’s wisdom still works. If I find myself rooted in the right place, I can expect to flourish.

I’m praying for you and your family this week. May the blessings of the Lord rain down on you as you run hard after Him!

Immeasurably More,

Pastor
