Compelled By Love

Sharing the Gospel with those who are close to you, yet far from the Lord is not difficult. Too often we make the call to evangelism into a heavy burden to bear, yet Christ called His burden light and easy. Obviously we’re missing something crucial.

In a recent survey, Lifeway research found that 60% of Bible-believing, church going individuals feel a duty to share the Gospel. Lifeway also found that 8 out of 10 unchurched people say that they would come to church if simply invited. Truly, the world around us is more interested in hearing the good news of the Gospel and discovering more about Jesus than we realize. What an incredible opportunity!

Here is the not-so-good news. Even though the majority of those who attend church feel an obligation and an even greater majority of the unchurched express an openness to the gospel, less than 9 out of 10 believers will even take the small step of inviting someone to church this year. Jesus spoke truth when He said, “the harvest is great but the workers are few.”

You and I are part of the greatest story ever told. So what is it that prevents so many from sharing this amazing story with those around them?

Some of the reasons could be:

Feeling unprepared to share your story
Fear of being rejected
Uncertainty of questions that might be asked
Not having a strong enough relationship with the individual

Ultimately I believe the heart of the matter is a matter of the heart. We have yet to truly connect with the heart of God concerning the lost world around us. When we embrace the Father’s heart for those that are away from Him, we find a compulsion that drives us past any doubts, fears, or insecurities. We find a passion that moves us from apathy and into action.

This is the greatest need before the church today!

With that in mind, I want to invite you to take a journey with us for the next thirty days. For the entire month of September, we are on a church wide campaign to embrace the Father’s heart and see souls reached with the power of the Gospel. We are going to plunder hell and populate heaven!

We have partnered with Immerse the Nations to create a 30 day campaign called “Compelled By Love” and have prepared a 30 day devotional that starts September 1st. You can find that on our social media each day or on our website. There will also be various opportunities to put feet to the Gospel throughout the month.

Today I want to ask you to commit to the 30 day devotional and begin with us this Sunday for the launch of Compelled by Love!

I truly believe it will change lives, most importantly the lives of people who right now are close to you, but far from the Lord.
