How Do You and I Bless the Lord?

Psalm 34:1-3, “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.”

David was in the midst of a wilderness season, yet, made the active decision and choice that he would open his mouth and praise in spite of the pressures that surrounded him. He didn’t let negative talk or words, bitterness or criticism flow from his lips but rather he chose to proclaim the goodness of God consistently to himself and to those around him.

My friend, what’s the sound on your lives? Do your words carry the notes of goodness and mercy, humility, praise, and worship? Our praise creates an atmosphere. Remember, we summon what we serenade. Make a choice today to bless yourself, to bless your family, to bless your co-workers, and to bless your community. Someone exalt the Lord with me and proclaim His holy name!

This past week as we wrapped up our series on blessings, I shared a blessing that was written by Pastor John Kilpatrick that I want to pass along to you. I encourage you every day this week to wake up and speak these blessings over yourself and then let that become the foundation to speak over those that are around you.

Jenna and I look forward to seeing you this weekend as we gather to exalt the Lord together. Also, remember that we have started a brand new semester of Grace Groups and the launching of Grace Young Adults on the 25th of this month. If you haven’t signed up for a group, you’re missing out on one of the key aspects that makes Grace World such a special place. I encourage you to find a group to connect, serve or be equipped in. Life is better together!
