Many Today Take Their Freedom For Granted
The second chapter of Hebrews begins like this, “Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?” (Hebrews 2:1-3).
Freedom is never free. It comes at great cost. As a nation, we understand that the freedoms we enjoy as Americans were secured through the sacrifice of those who paid for it with their lives. As believers, we know that ultimate freedom was purchased through the blood of our Savior. Freedom is precious and in the history of the world it’s rare. Therefore, it must be esteemed and guarded as the treasure it is.
Today, many take for granted the liberties and freedoms they inherited. They “drift away” because they do not know nor honor the past and those that paved the way. History has shown that freedom is always one generation from being forfeited by those who take it for granted.
This week I was introduced to a precious 85 year old saint who escaped the horrors of post war Europe. After WWII, her family was rounded up and placed in a concentration camp because they were German. She was just six years old when she was imprisoned. She watched family members starve to death. She witnessed the brutality of the worst of humanity. Freedom has a different weight for her. She teared up while telling me about seeing “Lady Liberty” for the first time.
I’ve invited her to come share a part of her story this weekend. I encourage you to come and bring a friend. I have a timely message entitled, “The Road Back To Holocaust”.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday!

PS: This Saturday is our Thanksgiving Turkey give away. Pray for divine encounters and souls to be saved. Sunday is also our two year mark of our Yes! campaign. I will give an update on our progress towards “Finishing Our Future.”
