Marriage Matters

This week, I woke up to several headlines:

  • “Marriage is a bad deal for men.”
  • “Polyamory is the next revolution.”
  • “Older Gen Z younger millennials are forgoing marriage and choosing cohabitation.”

Does marriage still matter?

The very first institution that God created on the earth was not the church, not the state, it was family. It was God who provided the first bride. It was God who officiated the first wedding. In order to have a strong healthy community and culture it must be built around strong, healthy families. In order to have strong, healthy families, they need strong, healthy marriages.

We’ve watched over the decades how marriage has been rewritten, redefined, desecrated, dishonored, deconstructed, and the result has been a decline in every moral measurable.

I’m convinced of this one thing; whether you are in a season of singleness or walking the journey of togetherness that marriage still matters. In this year of grace and walking in His unforced rhythms of grace, our prayer as a church is that you would find grace for your most important relationship here on earth.

I encourage you to do two things during the month of February. First, join us on Sundays and Wednesdays as we take a fresh look at marriage from a Kingdom perspective and invite His grace to strengthen our homes. Secondly, join with us in reading this month’s corporate devotionals. We have two to choose from: for those that are married One Thing To Grow Your Marriage Each Day, for those who are single (or single again), Better Together.

I believe this with all of my heart, that if we will walk this journey together in sincerity, at the end of the month we will be able to look back and say that our relationship with the Lord and the relationship with my spouse is stronger than it was at the beginning of the year. This is my prayer for you.

Grace to You,

Pastor

PS. Open enrollment for Grace Leadership Academy begins today. We are expanding our classrooms to open up room for more students for the upcoming school year. If you have a student or know a family with students who are looking for a school built on a biblical worldview, that teaches Christian leadership, centers on academic excellence, and instilling the founding principles of our nation, you owe it to yourself to take a strong look at Grace Leadership Academy. Every family has the opportunity to choose the school they feel is best for their child. Scholarships are available.
