Planted In Truth

Dear Friends,

I hope this email finds you well. Thank you for the feedback from last week’s message, “Planted in Truth.” Your responses are always encouraging and appreciated. I can’t think of a more relevant series for us right now, as we live in a post-Christian nation that champions individual truth over absolute biblical truth. As we learned on Sunday, “if your faith is not rooted in a firm foundation, you have a faith that will eventually fail.”

I have a deep-held conviction that God’s Word is still relevant today and can be trusted, as it has stood the test of time. Why? Because the Word of God is:

  • Alive (Heb 4:12) and Active (Heb 4:12)
  • A Blessing that contains Blessings (Lk 11:28) and my daily Bread (Matt 4:4)
  • Creative power (John 1:3) and Corrects my steps (2 Tim 3:16)
  • Dangerous (2 Tim 3:12) as it is the most outlawed book in the world, banned in 52 countries
  • Equipping (2 Tim 3:16), Enduring (Is 40:8), and Eternal (Is 40:8, Matt 24:35)
  • Flawless (Ps 18:30), Faithful, and Faith-filled (1 Thess 5:24), setting people Free (Jn 8:31)
  • God’s words (2 Tim 3:16) that are God-breathed (2 Tim 3:16)
  • A source of Hope (Ps 130:5) and Healing (Ps 107:20)
  • Illumination (Ps 119:130) and will give you Insight
  • All about Jesus (John 1:1)
  • A source of Knowledge (Prov 2:6)
  • A Lamp unto my feet and a Light to my path (Ps 119:105), a source of Life, and is itself Life-giving (Matt 4:4) as it is a source of Living water (John 7:38)
  • Multiplying (Matt 13:22) and makes me Mature
  • Nourishing my soul (1 Peter 2:2)
  • Our Refuge and our strength in times of trouble (Ps 18:30)
  • Pure (Ps 119:9), Perfect (Ps 18:30), and Praise-worthy (Ps 56:4). It is also Protective (Ps 119:11), Penetrating (Heb 4:12), and Powerful, going forth like Precious seed and accomplishing the Purposes of the Lord (Is 55:1)
  • Quick like a two-edged sword (Heb 4:12)
  • Right (Ps 33:4), Righteous, and Refreshing (Ps 19:7)
  • A Sword (Heb 4:12) and a Shield (Ps 18:30), Sure foundation (Matt 7:24)
  • The Truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth (Jn 8:31), therefore it is Trustworthy (2 Tim 3:16)
  • Useful (2 Tim 3:16) and gives me Understanding (Prov 2:6)
  • The first and final word of Victory (Ephesians 6:13)
  • Making one Wise (James 1:22) by giving Godly Wisdom (Prov 2:6)
  • The exception to every earthly realm (Pro 16:9)
  • The expectation of the heavenly throne (Ps 103:19)
  • Your light and your salvation (Ps 119:105)
  • Zion’s Foundation

Come on!  There is no book like His Book!

This week, I challenged you to engage with the Word of God more intentionally. If you don’t spend any time in the Word, make time each day this week.  If you have that discipline of daily devotion, add a little more effort.  Strengthen that firm foundation knowing that it will never fail us.

Immeasurably More,

Pastor
