Taking Ground in 2021

Hello Grace World family!

It was so good to be in the house of the Lord on Sunday! There’s no replacement for worshiping Jesus together with the church family. If you haven’t heard the word from Sunday that was entitled, “What are you doing here?”, please make time in the next few days to listen to the message. Certainly a now word for this season!

Can you believe that we are already halfway through January? It’s a year to take ground! It’s a year to make the enemy pay. It’s a year to see the kingdom of God expand. No doubt, 2021 is a pivotal year. I have heard so clearly from the Lord that this is the year of expanding our tent stakes and stretching out. In fact, I’ll be ministering on that this Sunday. I hope and trust that you’ll join us whether in the Dome or from your home.

I’m excited to let you know that this Sunday we are ready to reopen Grace Kids Jr. So yes, moms and dads, our Grace Kids Jr. will be available along with Grace Kids this Sunday. The check in process will remain in place. Thank you for bearing with us as we ensure a safe, sanitary, and healthy environment for our kids. We look forward to ministering to your entire family!

This weekend begins our winter quarter of Grace Groups. I would encourage you to click here to take a look at what is being offered. We have both in person and virtual groups available. Topics range from leadership, marriage, finances, healing, purpose, serving opportunities and more! I’m certain you can find a group to connect with. Connection, especially during times like these, is so important. The church is more than a service. It’s more than an outreach to the community. It genuinely means to be called out and be assembled. We are better together! Grace Groups are a great way to do just that.

We will be honoring the life of one of our beloved members and elder, John Thornton, in an online virtual memorial service on Tuesday, January 26 at 2pm. You can view this service via our website or our Facebook page. (If you are unable to view the service on the 26th, it will be available to view at graceworldag.org/memorial.) I encourage you to continue to lift up his wife, Judy and family.

Also, please remember Karen Leung and her family. Her husband, Woody Leung, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday afternoon. Our hearts hurt at this sudden loss. I am jealous that Woody has seen the face of Jesus and has finally heard those words we all long to hear, “Well done my good and faithful servant”. That is the moment we all live for. Information will also be posted soon on arrangements. Our prayers are with the Leung family.

As you move about the community and come to the church as well, please continue to do so in honor and abide by the CDC guidelines. It’s important during this time that we remain both faith filled and sober minded. The threat of Covid is serious and continues to be for our community as well as our congregation. Continue to stand with me in faith and prayer believing God for an end to this pandemic.

This weekend as we gather, we ask that you remain community conscious and personally responsible for the health and well being of yourself and those around you and that you continue to abide by the CDC recommendations:

  • Remain at home if you are sick or been around someone who is sick.
  • Remain six feet or more apart from others.
  • Use a face covering when physical distancing is difficult to maintain.
  • Refrain from congregating in the Dome or foyer before and after service.

We are taking ground in 2021!
